    India Qatar 300x240 India–Qatar decides to intensify cooperation in various sectorsIndia and Qatar today decided to intensify cooperation in a host of areas including power, banking and finance to take the strategic partnership to a new high. The two sides also decided to enhance cooperation in fertilizers, civil aviation and human resource development.

    The decisions were taken at the second India-Qatar high-level monitoring mechanism which concluded its two-day deliberations in New Delhi today. The Indian side at the talks was led by the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister T.K.A. Nair and the Qatari side by Minister of State for International Cooperation Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah.

    According to an official press release issued after the meeting, Qatar conveyed its readiness to increase supply of LNG to meet India’s requirements and facilitate the participation of Indian companies in the oil and gas sector in Qatar. The fourth meeting of the high-level monitoring mechanism will be held in Qatar next year.
