Mumbai : The Swearing in ceremony of the Billabong High International
School students’ council for the academic year 2012-13 started off with Chief guest Group Captain K.P.Gaud and the Principal Mrs. Sujata Lakhani escorted in by the outgoing Head Boy – Parth Athley and Head Girl – Aishwarya Abbott. The ceremony commenced with an Indian Classical Solo Dance performance along with the introduction of each member of the Students’ Council.
In her address Principal Mrs. Sujata Lakhani said that even heavy rains could not damp the spirit of Billabongers as they know the real leader works toward achieving their goals. She emphasized upon dignity, honour, and selfless
service, reminding the Council that it’s not so much about authority as it is about responsibility. She proposed the one thumb rule, “Take good action, for good reasons for the ultimate good of the school.”
Also she suggested the new body to: “lay down your rules and guide lines at the very beginning. You have to be firm yet approachable.”
With a sense of pride and responsibility the new Council took their places on the podium. The Student Council then took oath from the Chief Guest Group Captain K.P.Gaud. The pledge resounded unmistakably as each prefect repeated the words with great humility and honour.
The parents of the elected Council members looked on proudly and recognized the fact that the School had gone a long way in nurturing all Billabongers as leaders. The new Council consists of Ipsa Agnani as the Head Girl and Sikander Jamal as the Head Boy, Sports Captain – Arbaz Ali Khan and Sports Vice-Captain – Mohammad Durrani.
