Manipur: About 270 candidates will contest the ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections. Altogether 170 candidates will be in the electoral battle for 38 seats which will go to polls on the fourth of the next month in the first phase of the 60-member state assembly elections.

As many as 103 candidates filed their nomination papers by the last day of filing nominations yesterday for 22 seats in the second phase of the state assembly elections which will go polls on the eighth of the next month.
