  • CSO pegs advance GDP growth estimate for current fiscal at 7.1%

    Central Statistical Organisation, CSO has pegged advance GDP growth estimate for current fiscal at 7(point)1 per cent, the same as GDPprojected earlier. Briefing media on 2nd Advance Estimates of National Income, 2016-17, Chief Statistician T.C.A. Anant said, India’s December quarter GDP stands at 7 percent in the demonetisation period from October to December last year.

    Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das today said noteban has not impacted the GDP numbers. Talking to media in New Delhi after release of 2nd Advance Estimates of National Income, he said, the remonetisation process is nearing completion.

    Mr Das said, any growth rate above 7 per cent is noteworthy. He said, agriculture sector has shown robust growth and manufacturing growth is satisfying. He said, realty sector is going through major sectoral correction.
