manipurImphal : Election campaign is gradually picking up momentum for the two-phased Manipur Assembly elections which will go to polls on the fourth and eighth of the next month. At Imphal, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today released the Vision Document of BJP for Manipur ahead of the state assembly elections.

The 24-page vision document, the Manipur BJP stressed on raising a Highway Protection Force for ensuring a blockade free Manipur in days to come. Mr. Rajnath Singh said that the NDA Government at the Centre and BJP will never compromise the territorial integrity of Manipur in any eventuality.

Our Correspondent reports that Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that Manipur is nowhere mentioned in the framework agreement signed between the Centre and NSCN(IM) to resolve the decades old Naga insurgency problem.

He further said that the agreement will not affect the territorial integrity of the state and the NDA Government at the Centre as well as his party will never compromise the territorial integrity of the state in any eventuality.

Regarding the indefinite economic blockade imposed by the United Naga Council on the two National Highways of Manipur, the Union Home Minister also charged that the Congress Government in Manipur would have managed a political conspiracy to divert the attention of the people from its 15 years’ misrule to economic blockade.

He also said that if not so, there is no reason for state government’s inactive nature to deal with the economic blockade in spite of all possible assistance from the Centre including additional security forces to deal with the situation.
