  • Shri. M.A.M.R. Muthiah (Ayyappan) Contributes 17.5 Lakhs Towards Philanthropic Activities

    Chennai: Shri. M.A.M.R. Muthiah (Ayyappan), a young and dynamic Group Managing Director of The Chettinad Group has contributed Rs.10 lakhs towards corpus funds for the maintenance of Sri Venkatesa Perumal temple, Kanadukaathan and 6 units of Chettinad-Group-Managing-Dilockers worth Rs.7.50 lakhs for Nagara Chidambara Vinayagar temple, Kanadukaathan.

    Shri Muthiah handed over the cheques to Thiru M R K Palaniappan, Trustee, Kanadukaathan Nagarathar Sangam in the presence of Mr. Ravi Murugappan, R. Mr. Ramanathan, Mr. J. Chidambaram, Mr. SP. Annamalai and Mr. M. Chidambaram at a function held at Karaikudi.

    Commenting on the contribution, Shri. M.A.M.R. Muthiah, Group Managing Director, Chettinad Group, said, “I would like to dedicate my contributions to my beloved mother, late. Smt. Sigapi Achi. I consider myself the luckiest in the world to have such a lovely and caring family standing beside me, with their love and unconditional support shall continue doing more of such initiatives and ‘build a culture of giving back’.”

    The interest amount from corpus funds (Rs.10 lakhs) can be utilised for the upkeep and conducting of rituals in the temple, the rent accrued from the lockers (worth Rs.7.50 lakhs) would be used for the welfare of the Kanadukaathan village.

    Apart from the above, the group has also contributed Rs.10 lakhs towards construction of a new building for accommodating the students studying in higher secondary education at Pethal Achi Higher Secondary School, Devakottai. Also, planned serious of philanthropic activities such as establishment of retirement community homes and healthcare to support the elderly towards the concept of “pay back to the society”.
