India defeated Japan 4-3 in their round robin match of Azlan Shah Hockey tournament in Ipoh in Malaysia on Wednesday.
The first quarter of the match was scintillating as both the sides displayed aggressive hockey.
Rupinder Pal Singh scored the opening goal for India in the 8th minute.
Soon Japan scored equaliser through a field goal to make it 1-1.
In the 3rd quarter Japan took the lead but soon India bounced back and scored a goal to make the score line 2-2.
At the end of the 3rd quarter Japan took lead once again through Mitani.
Towards the end of the game Mandeep Singh scored his 3rd goal of the match to seal the tie in India’s favor with a margin of 4-3.
