  • Bengaluru:  electronic India and productronica India 2012, a three day exhibition, started today at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). More than 315 Exhibitors have participated, representing around 900 companies. The representers include country pavilions from Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, UK, Hong Kong, China, apart from 25 other countries.

    The exhibition was inaugurated with the ‘lightning the lamp’ ceremony by Industry leaders. During the inauguration, Mr. Norbert Bargmann, Deputy CEO, Messe Muenchen GmbH said, “India could be the next global hub for innovations in the electronics Sector. The future of Electronic manufacturing could come with the Made in India tag.” Mr. Rajoo Goel, Secretary General, ELCINA, emphasized on the need for policy reforms in electronics manufacturing. Mr Goel added, “India imported more than USD 40 billion electronic products last year and it is also projected that Indian electronic bill would exceed the import oil bill by 2017-2018. Industry has been working closely with the Government to create policies to overcome this and emphasize on the need for electronics manufacturing in India. An event like this helps create a platform for International and Indian companies to work together.”

    electronica India and productronica India 2012 is sponsored  by the Department of Electronics and Information technology, Government of India and supported by other major industry associations like Consortium of Electronics Industries of Karnataka (CLIK), Electronics Industries Association of Andhara Pradesh, Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and Electronics Industries Associaton of India (ELCINA). electronica India and productronica India are one of the key events in the electronics network of Messe München International. This network includes the world’s leading trade fairs electronica and productronica, as well as hybridica in Munich and leading regional events in Brazil (São Paulo), China (Shanghai and Hong Kong) and India (Bangalore / New Delhi).
