104.8 Ishq, India’s first romantic radio station, has come up with yet another engrossing episode of Ishq Jam with RJ Sarthak, that is sure to leave its listeners in awe. THIS time around, it’s the multi-genre desi sensation Faridkot – comprising IP Singh and Rajarshi Sanyal – in the studio, set to make the listener sway to their melodies. The veteran musicians have come up with a teeth-clenching, funk laden new single called ‘Subah’, and it has justifiably been making waves all over social media, with the video already having crossed more than a million views in the span of a month.

In an engaging conversation, the Faridkot duo talks to RJ Sarthak about how they started in 2008, and have been creative with their musical chartbusters. Their first album titled ‘Ek’ was acknowledged as the second best selling Indie album in the country after Euphoria by a leading music company.

The duo- IP Singh and Rajarshi Sanyal set ablaze the 104.8 Ishq’s studio with their latest song, ‘Subah’, a song where the ‘90s funk and synth-heavy influences are very clear to the ear.  

Bringing the jam alive with songs old and new – Laila, Banjare and the latest addition ‘Subah’ – Faridkot provided ample proof of just how they have managed to break stereotypes with their Indie and Sufi fusion, and remained fresh and relevant for so long.

IP and Rajarshi further discussed the challenges faced during the early days of Faridkot, and traced their incredible journey from amateur musicians to seasoned players with an intimate knowledge of just what will make the audiences move to their groove.
