In a major breakthrough, Guwahati police nabbed eleven top Manipur based United National Liberation Front (UNLF) personnel, including a lieutenant colonel and two lady ultras from the city.
The UNLF ultras had set up a centre by renting various houses in Dispur, Madgharia and Geetnagar areas of the city, Senior Superintendent of Police P C Saloi told.
Based on intelligence inputs, the police on Thursday raided all the hideouts and nabbed the eleven ultras.
Among the arrested were a self styled lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain and a second lieutenant, and lady lance coroporals, Saloi said.
The ultras, who were being interrogated were expected to be produced in court on Friday.
Two gypsy vans, one satellite mobile set, 20 mobiles, five laptops, five sophisticated cameras, about Rs 30,000 in cash and some arms and ammunition, were recovered from them.
