168 crore bank scam case, CBI raids Ghosh Brothers establishments in Guwahati, also probes the houses of the accused

Guwahati : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the residences of Ghosh Brothers at Spanish Garden and Manik Nagar on Ju Road in Guwahati. It is learnt that the Central Investigation Agency had registered cases against Ghosh Brothers Automobiles and its promoters and directors on June 2. 168 crores of the bank. The CBI has named Pranab Kumar Ghosh, Atul Kumar Ghosh, Geeta Rani Ghosh and Praveen Kumar Ghosh as accused in the case. Apart from the promoters and directors of Ghosh Brothers Automobiles, cbi has also named chartered accountant Arunabha Chattopadhyay and bank employees as accused. CBI officials said IDBI Bank had lodged a complaint against the men. The bank alleges that in connivance with all of them 168. 62 crores.

The complaint said that the men had taken a term loan by placing wrong documents and facts before the bank. Ghosh Brothers is also accused of using loan money taken from the bank for other purposes as well. That is, money was invested in other activities instead of the purpose for which the loan was taken from the bank. The CBI says the total arrears on Ghosh Brothers on July 10, 2020 were Rs 153.38 crore. Due to non-payment of this amount, it was npa. Meanwhile, cbi raids are on till the time of reporting. At present, the central investigating agency is yet to ascertain what the CBI was involved in today’s raid.
