New Delhi : A nationwide Immunization campaign for polio was launched today in which 17 crore children were administered polio drops. More than 23 lakh volunteers were participated in this massive national effort. The campaign was formally started yesterday when President Pratibha Devisingh Patil administered Polio vaccine drops to eight children at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

In Delhi, elaborate arrangements were made in various Government and Private hospitals and dispensaries to administer Pulse polio drops to the children up to five years of age.
