19 killed, 30 injured in multiple-car crash in Egypt

In Egypt, at least 19 people were killed and 30 others injured in a multiple-car crash that set off an explosion and ignited a fire at country’s main cancer hospital in Cairo.

In a statement, the Interior Ministry said that a vehicle driving outside the National Cancer Institute collided with up to three other vehicles, causing the explosion.

The blast caused a fire in the hospital, where at least 54 patients were evacuated to other hospitals. The Health Ministry did not say if hospital patients or staff were among the casualties.
