  • Cheteshwar Pujara’s superb 123 took India to a respectable position against Australia on day one of the Adelaide Test on Thursday.

    India were 250 for 9 at stumps.

    The visitors were just 85 for 5 at one stage, before Pujara scored his 16th test hundred and revived the Indian innings.

    Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin also made valuable contributions.

    The stumps were drawn after Pujara’s wicket, with Mohammad Shami at the crease at 6.

    For Australia, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Nayhan Lyon bagged 2 wickets each.

    This the first test of the four-match series.
