  • 2 killed, 23 injured after building collapses in Himachal Pradesh

    In Himachal Pradesh, at least two people, including an Army jawan, were killed and 23 injured after a four-storey building collapsed due to rain at Kumarhatti in Solan district this evening.

    The building, which housed a restaurant, was on the sliding zone located on the Nahan-Kumarhatti road. Solan Deputy Commissioner K C Chaman said that 37 people were trapped including Army Jawans.

    So far, 23 people have been rescued. He said two bodies have been recovered from the debris. The rescued people have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

    The Deputy Commissioner added that eighteen Army personnel are among the injured while 14 others are still trapped under the debris. Meanwhile, search and rescue operation is being carried out by Army, NDRF along with District authorities.
