New Delhi:  2069 NCC cadets including 695 girls  to take part  in the Republic Day camp this year. Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, Director General of National Cadet Crops Lieutenant General Aniruddha Chakravarty said, 91 Cadets from seven countries are also participating in the month long camp as per the youth exchange programme. He said, Vice President Hamid Ansari will inaugurate the camp tomorrow.

He said, dignitaries including Defence Minister, Minister of State for Defence, Delhi Chief Minister, Chiefs of Army and Air Force and Vice Chief of Naval Staff will visit the camp. He said, the cadets will also meet Prime Minister and will attend the at home programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mr Chakravarty said, enrollment of girls in NCC has gone up to 28 percent and an all girls expedition to Mount Everest has been planned in May this year. He said, an exclusive girls battalion will be raised in the near future.
