Haflong : The 24 + social organizations comprising of two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong has resumed its agitation after a gap of six months as the organizations were reminding time and again to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) authority for framing of new rules of the KAAC under Paragraph 2 Sub-Paragraph 7 of the Sixth Schedule of the constitution, by holding a sit-in-demonstration cum procession, here on Tuesday,
The agitation has to be called off when after the Karbi Anglong District Administration did not allow to hold of demonstration citing the imposition of 144 Cr. PC as the final Assam NRC will be published on July 31.
In a reminder letter to KAAC, CEM, Tuliram Ronghang has demanded for framing of rules of KAAC, review of KAAC (Constitution of Village Councils) Bill, 2013, correction of KAAC electoral roll, cancellation of Assam Land & Revenue Regulation Act.1886 (ALRR) and restore the customary tribal land law.
