328 fresh confirmed cases of novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours in the country. With this the total number of cases has now gone up to 1965 including 50 deaths.

Out of the total cases, 151 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospitals. Briefing media in New Delhi today, Joint Secretary Lav Aggarwal said, around 400 positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified from different States including Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Delhi, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, which are linked to Tablighi Jamaat cluster. Mr Aggarwal said, yesterday Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has asked the States for complete contact tracing of Tablighi Jamaat participants.

Mr Aggarwal also informed that an email id – [email protected] has been created to address the queries related to technical aspects. He said, a guideline has also been issued related to kidney patients containing precautionary measures. He said, Food Corporation of India is ready to provide five kilogram rations to the beneficiaries covered under National Food Security Act.

Mr Aggarwal also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held interaction with the Chief Ministers of the States on COVID-19.

Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry,Punya Salila Srivastava said that  Home Ministry  in collaboration with the States is ensuring the enforcement of  Lockdown.

On Tablighi Jamat workers, Ms Srivastava said that 9000 people who are Tablighi Jamaat workers having primary contacts have been identified and placed under quarantine out of which 1306 are foreigners and rest are Indians.

She also informed that out of about 2,000 Tablighi Jamaat members in Delhi, 1,804 have been quarantined and 334 who were symptomatic, have been admitted to hospitals.
