Haflong :Alongwith the rest of the country 57^th Teachers Day was centrally celebrated at Haflong.TheProgramme was organized by Inspector of Schools, DimaHasao, Haflong and Member Secretary 57^th Teachers Day district Level Celebration Committee, Dima Hasao, Haflong.

Bikram Dev Sarmah,ADC presided over the programme and Flaming RupsiShylla,EM i/c Education etc. attended as Chief Guest of the day long programme held at Cultural Institute Hall,Haflong.

The programme started with felicitation to the VIPs graced in the dias withGamocha,lightening of lamps and offering of floral tribute to the portraitof Dr. SarvepalliRadhakrishnan, great the philosopher and the 1^st Vice President of Indian Repiblic and 2^nd President of India.

Flaming RupsiShylla, Chief Guest of the programme in his speech at length narrated the life activities of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.He also spoke about the duties and responsibilities of teaching community. He gave inspirational speeches for the teachers and requested for their dedication towards building good citizens for future generations.

The program also included one minute condolence by silent mode for the departed souls of teachers who expired in between 6/9/17 to 5/9/18.Presentation of certificate of honour and citations to 17 teachers including retired and in service from High School, M E School and L.P Schools of the district.

Theprogramme also included speech competition on life activities of Dr. SarvapalliRadhakrishnan among various schools students.

The programme was also attended by Gayatri Naiding, Inspector of Schools, Malabika Longmailai, Retired Principal, Haflong Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Officers and staff of education department, media persons and a large number of teaching communities.
