  • 67th Independence Day celebrations was held at The Millennium School, Gurgaon

    Gurgaon : The Millennium School (TMS), Gurgaon celebrated India’s 66th Independence Day with great fervor.Independence Day is celebrated Independence Day celebrations at The Millennium School-Gurgaon 8to commemorate India’s independence from British rule in 1947. The country pays tribute to its freedom fighters on this day.

    The day began with a special assembly in the school where children were apprised about the importance of this day and school children presented patriotic songs.

    To give the occasion added flavor, the students participated in a fancy dress competition with the theme ‘Leaders from the Globe’.

    Highlight of the day was a fancy dress competition where children dressed up as leaders from across countries to pay tribute to these leaders. Some of the leaders emulated by children included popular Indian and international leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, B.R. Ambedkar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Indira Gandhi, Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln. Children reminded the audience of the exemplary contributions made to the society by each of these leaders.

    Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Vineeta Mittal, Principal, The Millennium School, Gurgaon said, “Independence Day is one of the most important days in the history of India. Our children are very young and today’s celebration was aimed at inculcating respect for not just the country but the contribution made by the leaders who fought for the country’s freedom.
