Lauderdale Lakes, FL- Altitude Water, a leading manufacturer and installer of several types of Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) as well as the creator of a first-of-its-kind Disaster Relief Trailer (DRT) seen on NBC6 and Fox Carolina, has launched its first fundraising campaign with long-time non-profit partner The Footprint Project in order to fund the creation of three new DRTs for future disaster responses. This first fundraiser will have a goal of $170,000 and fund the first trailer.
Footprint Project, led by Operations Director Will Heegaard, is a non-profit organization that has participated in various disaster response and recovery missions, including the 2023 Maui fires, the 2023 Mississippi tornadoes, Hurricane Ian (2022), Hurricane Ida (2021), and many more. Footprint Project deploys cleaner infrastructure to communities in crisis, activating solar trailers, solar generators, batteries, and water generators. They support a wide range of community partners, including local mutual aid organizations, fire stations, community centers, faith-based institutions, health centers and grassroots groups.
“We have worked alongside The Footprint Project multiple times over the last 14 months,” stated Altitude Water COO and Founder Jeff Szur. “Most recently, we worked with them to distribute water from our DRT to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. We even left the DRT in their care for several weeks to better serve the local community in Asheville, and I am always incredibly thankful for their efforts.”
Szur added, “As proud as I am of our Disaster Relief Trailer, one is simply not enough to meet demand following a disaster such as a hurricane, wildfire, or earthquake. We need to manufacture more to help people across the United States, and this fundraiser will be a much-needed step forward in order to be prepared for 2025’s hurricane season. Footprint has proven to be a logistical master in the triage that is disaster relief and finding the right partners for the resources they have to deploy. These trailers will enable them to do their job more efficiently”
“We are excited to put more mobile renewably-powered water generation trailers in service for disaster-affected communities,” stated Will Heegaard. “As we saw in Asheville this fall, mobile water generation trailers are critical for supporting community resilience and long-term recovery. We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Altitude Water and other climate technology manufacturers to move the needle on sustainable disaster response.”
