Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, the celebrated movie maker who has to his credit tinsel classics like Pushpak, Appu Raja and Aditya 369, is here again to create another history with his exclusive craftsmanship.  Rao, this time, with his impeccable creativity is all set to portray the consecrated life and times of Jesus Christ in English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.  Produced by Konda Krishnamraju, the movie mogul  who has to his credit, as a producer,  blockbuster films  like Vijayendra Varma and Sri Ramadasu.  This film takes a very special place with Power Star of the Telugu screen, Pawan Kalyan doing an important cameo role.

This prestigious film has been inaugurated at the holy land of Jerusalem. At Jerusalem, the unit members of the film interacted with the international media, while simultaneously, through video conference, they interacted with the media at Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Chennai, Banguluru and Cochin. Mr. K Raghu, Chairman and Managing Director of Indu Bharat Power Group started the programme and interacted with Pawan Kalyan.

“Several films have been made on the life of Jesus Christ, from ‘King of Kings’, ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ to the more recent ‘Passion of Christ’. Now making again such a widely known story is a big challenge. As such, myself, Mr. Bharavi, the scriptwriter and Mr. Konda Krishnamraju, the producer worked for one and half years to decide on the way we should present this story”; says the film’s director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.

This is a great story full of drama and intense human emotions. The whole world knows “Jesus Christ” story from birth upto the time he was twelve. After that, he appeared only at the age of 30, and lived upto 33 years. Nobody knows what happened to him during these 18 years. Some say that during this time, he came to India and spent his time with the sadhus. But this is not authenticated. It is remarkable that this single man who started his mission from a small village and within a short span of three years became a force that influenced the mankind for over two thousand years and worshipped by millions of people. Shaken by the huge following, the then rulers had him crucified at the age of 33 years.

While  our  film narrates the story of Jesus right from his birth upto his crucification, the most important element of the film is all characters are played by children of age group between 10 to 14. This is the first of its kind in the world cinema, and by this the film will project what adult actors may not be able to, namely, purity and divinity of the human spirit.  Because of child actors portraying adult characters, makeup becomes an important part of the film and we wanted it to be handled by the best international technician. Our research has lead us to the name of Mr. Christine Tinsley, who got an Oscar nomination for his work in “Passion of Christ”. His team also worked for “PAA” by doing makeup for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. When we contacted him and explained our concept, he was highly thrilled and not only accepted to work for the film but agreed to be throughout with us during the shooting. In 79 years history of Bollywood, till now no film was made on Jesus Christ story in Hindi. This is going to be the first film in Bollywood making on the story of Jesus Christ. We take this as a privilege.

We unanimously agreed that it would be ideal if the power star of Tollywood screen, Mr. Pawan Kalyan accepted to do the role. It is with great pleasure we found that he was very happy to do the role. Mr. Pawan Kalyan is highly creative, knowledgeable and dynamic, and with his electrifying presence, this movie is sure to reach great heights” said Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.

Konda Krishnamraju, the producer, said “we are making this as one of the high budget films in India, and our director, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is totally dedicated in trying to make this film an all time classic. We are extremely happy that Mr. Pawan Kalyan, the power star has accepted to be a part of this film. Mr. Pawan Kalyan will be doing the role in Malayalam and Kannada versions also, Prominent heroines will be playing opposite to him in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions separately. For the English and Hindi versions, celebrated actors from those regions will be playing those parts.
