And if you haven’t experienced our hospitality yet, then this is a great season to begin, as Khandani Rajdhani opens its doors to one of the most loved seasons of the year – winter! Khandani Rajdhani celebrates the warmth and spirit of this season with ‘Aavyo Shiyaalo – the Winter Food Festival’ until the 5th of January across all Khandani Rajdhani outlets in the Country.

    Winter delicacies at the festival include Undhiyu, Bajri Rotla, Haldi ki subzi, Sarso ka saag, Bajri ni raab, Goond ke laddo, Adadiya Paak, Ponkh Pattice, Leeli tuvar ni kadhi, Lilva rice, Gajar ka halwa and Lilva pattice amongst others.

    No matter what your food palate is, you will love Khandani Rajdhani’s signature “Undhiyu”. Our Maharaj has toiled to perfect the winter vegetable dishes that we have created especially for the season. Undhiyu is an authentic Gujarati delicacy. The dish is a seasonal one, a combination of sweet, sour and spicy tastes subtly blended with farm fresh vegetables like green garlic, tuver, lilva, surti papadi and sweet potato. These are underground vegetables grown only in winter months from November to February. The name of this dish comes from the Gujarati words “matlu” meaning earthen pot and “undhu” meaning upside down since they have been traditionally cooked upside down underground in earthen pots fired from above.

    Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Aji Nair, Vice President, F&B Division, Mirah Hospitality said, “Winter is said to be the tastiest season of the year and at Khandani Rajdhani, winter delicacies are prepared with great gusto.
