ABGUS has so far planted 10,000 trees to support the practice of conserving and protecting the natural environment in its operational areas.

Global warming along with pollution, deforestation, and poor waste management, and continued use of fossil fuels are on the rise. All these factors not only pose a threat to our ecological balance but also threatens our very own existence. While going green is the need of the hour, we all know it can be tough or time-consuming to make the world a better place. This is where ABGUS’s plantation drive came into action.

Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti [ABGUS] is a voluntary civil society organization promoting self-reliance, empowering societies, and sustainable development since 1987. ABGUS has specialized expertise in implementing programs on “natural resource management & development” right from planning, designing, and executing such programs focusing community participation, engagement & building their capacities as its core area by community-led sustainable initiatives and leadership development.

ABGUS’s plantation drive is a social step taken forward by the organization under its Environment Protection Campaign initiated in 2017 with an aim for the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.  Till now, the ABGUS has planted 10,000 trees in the states including- Punjab, Rajasthan & Haryana. Mr. Rajesh Verma, founder, ABGUS, said that “ABGUS as an organization ensures that the local communities participate and are involved in environmental consciousness. Apart from this, ABGUS has also benefitted directly and indirectly more than 50,000 farmers through water conservation initiatives of village water bodies rejuvenation, surface water supplies to minimize the use of groundwater, and has developed bio-sand filter structures & kernel technology to prevent groundwater pollution.

The plantation campaign by ABGUS is aimed at reviving the native flora and environmental protection towards climate changes. The organization urges the local people, communities, corporates, & government to plant as many trees as possible in their vicinity and areas.  ABGUS hopes for a sustainable environment consciousness condition for the coming future to increase the green cover.
