  • Ace Indian shuttler P V Sindhu lifts World Tour Finals trophy in China

    Ace Indian shuttler P V Sindhu lifted the prestigious season-ending World Tour Finals trophy at Guangzhou, China, today. The Olympic silver medallist defeated Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-17 in the summit clash.

    Sindhu accomplished the feat after losing seven successive summit clashes. She had also won silvers at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and World Championships this year.

    Expressing happiness at her victory, Sindhu said, the year has ended on a beautiful note. Badminton Association of India President Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Sindhu on her historic win.

    Meanwhile Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy have congratulated ace shuttler P V Sindhu on winning the BWF Tour title today.

    In a statement, Mr Naidu expressed happiness over Sindhu’s historic victory and wished her many such successes in future. In his message, Mr Reddy said, the brilliance of P V Sindhu made the year 2018 memorable. He also wished Sindhu to continue her winning streak in the coming years as well.

    Moreover, the Badminton Association Of India(BAI) has also announced a cash reward of 10 lakh rupees for P V Sindhu forwinning the women’s singles championship. BAI also announced a cash reward of 3lakh rupees for Sameer Verma who reached the semifinal in his maiden appearanceat the World Tour Finals.
