BOSTON, MA : The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Odeh Engineers, Inc. as a 2019 bronze award winner for engineering excellence for their work on The Harlo/1350 Boylston Street in Boston.

The Harlo is a new seventeen-story modern apartment tower comprised of 212 units, ground floor retail space, and is home to multiple restaurants. In keeping with the vibrant feel of Boston’s popular Fenway district, the design team utilized a unique combination of precast concrete panels, metal panels, and glass curtain wall to create a distinctive, eye-catching

façade which effectively blends new and modern design seamlessly with its historic surroundings. The most identifiable feature of the building is its asymmetric shape, which was crafted by cantilevering one corner of the building out in two directions, creating bold sloped walls. Odeh Engineers, Inc. has offices in North Providence, RI and Boston.

The 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with special guest emcees Jonathan L. Gulliver, Highway Administrator at MassDOT and Frederick A. Laskey, Executive Director of MWRA.

“Each year we gather to celebrate and recognize engineering firms for projects that demonstrate innovation and excellence,” said Michael J. Walsh, PE, President of ACEC/MA and Vice President of CDM Smith. “We congratulate our winners who work tirelessly throughout the year to advance the goals and values of our organization and the industry.”
