  • Advanced Moulding Technologies Conference

    Published on April 19, 2011

Injection moulders today have to deliver the highest quality parts at the lowest cost and on the shortest leadtimes. With resin prices moving up, margins are being squeezed so it is more important than ever to use the most efficient and effective processing techniques.

Produced by European Plastics News, the second Advanced Moulding Technologies conference takes a close look at some 15 different advanced moulding techniques that can help injection moulders produce better parts faster and at less cost.

“Advanced moulding techniques are about optimising the process, improving the aesthetics and mechanical performance of parts, cutting cycle times – and saving costs” says European Plastics News editor and conference manager, Chris Smith.

“This conference delves deep into the exciting and innovative ideas that will define the future of plastics manufacturing. Pioneering technologies that will open up new possibilities in both design and functionality.”

One of the key areas that will be explored at the conference is assisted moulding. Once an area mired in patent disputes, this enabling technology is no longer an area for moulders to fear.

Variothermal or mould temperature cycling, will also be covered in detail with expert speakers explaining how it is being exploited by processors in the automotive and electronics to deliver new levels of quality and aesthetics.

Big name speakers at taking part in the Advanced Moulding Technologies  conference include experts from academia – Prof. Dr Christoph Jaroschek at Bielefeld University, the RWTH Aachen University and the Kunststoff-Institut Luedenscheid.  Speakers also include senior technology specialists from Netstal Packaging Systems, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH and Wittman Battenfeld.

EPN conferences are highly valued in the plastics sector and are designed as objective and independent meeting points for information sharing.  The focus of every event is on high quality, robust content with excellent networking opportunities.
