•             Team Suraj Menon & Dr. Siddhartha De of Advinus Therapeutics take home a Cash Prize of INR 2 Lakhs and Grand Trophy

•             More Than 175 Teams battle it out for the coveted National Championships

After a successful run across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore Regional Rounds with more than 175 teams participating, the Grand Finale of BioQuizitive 2010 – India’s first and largest Life Sciences Quiz for corporates hosted by Lotus Clinical Research Academy (LCRA) was held at the St.Johns Auditorium in Koramangala today. Suraj Menon and Dr. Siddhartha De from Advinus Therapeutics emerged victorious in the National Finals of BioQuizitive 2010 and won a cash prize of INR 2 Lakhs as well as a Grand Trophy. The quiz was conducted by well known QuizMaster Prakash Subbarao of the Bangalore Quiz Group.

The national finalists were Advinus Therapeutics from Mumbai, Torrent Research Centre from Ahmedabad, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories from Hyderabad and Jubilant Biosys from Bangalore. More than 175 teams battled it out at the various regional rounds to gain an entry into the national finals at Bangalore. Every regional round comprised of a preliminary written round of 20 questions and followed by the regional finals where the top four teams faced off each other for the regional championships that gave the winners a Sony Vaio laptop and the runners up a Sony cyber-shot camera.

There were many questions for the audience titled ‘Audience Quotient’. There was also a City Special comprising of ten questions on Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore where audiences were quizzed on city trivia. The corporate quiz brought together the sharpest quizzing minds to battle it out at the regional and national championships. During the regional round once the contestants were on stage it was an interesting series of five quiz rounds culminating with an exciting connection round. The five rounds were titled Walk the Talk, Fox Trot, Canterbuzzing, Galloping Ahead and Finish Line.

The competition began in Mumbai on 4th September, then moved to Ahmedabad on the 5th, Hyderabad on the 18th and finally arrived at Bangalore today for both the regional and the national finals.

Mr. Sudhir Pai, Managing Director Lotus Clinical Research Academy, Dr.Saral Thangam, Managing Director Norwich Clinical Services and Dr Arshad Mohammed, Director Clinical Data Management at Quintiles gave away the prizes to the winners of BioQuizitive 2010.
