Ahmedabad International Children Film Festival 3rd Edition

Ahmedabad International Children Film Festival is hosting its 3rd edition at Ahmedabad this year, with the hope after Diwali schools will reopen in India, we plan to go offline this year provided if situation permit us with government covid guidelines, if not offline the festival will be held online on our YouTube channel 24, 25 and 26th December 2021. 

AICFF is the platform where Children content from across the world are coming together. In 2019 & 2020 we received around 300 plus films from around 25 countries. This year we have received more than 102 entries, from 31 countries including India, our last date of submission is 7th December 2021. Film makers can submit their entries on hosting site, Filmfreeway, https://filmfreeway.com/aicff

This year’s Categories:

Feature Film:                                     (41 minutes or longer)

Short Film:                                          (40 minutes or less)

Documentary film:                          (5 to 40 minutes)

Student Film:                                    (5 to 40 minutes)

Awards in various categories:

Best Director Feature Film, Best Director Doc Film, Best Director Short Film, Best Short Film, Best Student Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Child Actor Feature Film, Best Actor Feature Film, Best Story Feature Film, Bronze Kite Award, Silver Kite Award and Golden Kite Award.

This year we have our festival advisor renowned Uma Da Cunha, she says: Film as a medium is one of the most accessible ways in which to reach the minds of children, and gauge how they ingest, react, and retain elements of what they see and evaluate in their individual, spontaneous way. When used well and ingeniously, film as a communications medium, has the inputs of being an invaluable teaching tool for all age groups, and particularly the young, whose minds are fresh and open to learning.

This year our festival Director is Manish Saini and Jury members are Aarti Patel and Girish Makwana.

Manish Saini: (Festival Director) National Film Award winner for Gujarati film ‘DHH’.

Aarti Patel: Aarti Patel is an Indian actor, writer, Radio jockey and producer known for her work in Gujarati cinema and television.

Girish Makwana: Film director, writer, musician, producer, and composer based in Australia.  Makwana is known for his debut international film ‘The Colour of Darkness’.  Makwana became the first Indian to be selected for a PhD course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Chetan Chauhan: Publicist by profession, Founder of festival says: Our efforts will always be there to do more with children cinema. AICFF is one of the gestures we have started for the society to give our children the feel of world of children cinema, especially when there is less focused on children content, and we want more people to give attention to our future generation.
