  • Ajay Devgan’s ‘Singham’ continues to dominate the Digital cinemas across the country; to screen on 748 UFO Digital Theatres for Week July 29 to August 4

    Mumbai:  Bollywood star Ajay Devgan’s action flick ‘Singham’ marked a successful return to the action packed films as the film will screen on 748 UFO digital theatres in 2nd week post release. In fact in its 2nd week, it is going to screen in more UFO digital cinemas as compared to the recent two popular movies “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” and “Murder 2″. In case of UFO Digital theatres, it is observed that the new trend action packed films become increasingly popular among the people in non-metros and small towns and, such trend is going beyond the traditional pockets of movie goers because of growing installation of over 2300 UFO digital screens across the country.

    Based on the figures from the UFO Digital Moviez, it is noticed that Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Singham” continued to hold screening in 748 UFO Digital Cinemas across the country for the second week ended August 4, 2011. Last week, it was screened in 894 UFO digital cinemas. Previous week’s release ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ also holds sizeable screens at 172 screen during the week as against 203 screens of UFO Digital cinemas for the week of July 21-28, 2011 This year’s so far Super-hit ‘Murder 2’ continues to screen on 80 UFO theatres across India in its 4th week. In fact, ‘Murder 2’ becomes very popular among the film goers in UFO digital cinemas located in non-metro cities and towns across India.

    UFO, the world’s single largest networked digital cinema platform, has over 2,300 digital cinemas across India. It has revolutionized the way films are distributed and exhibited through its pioneering technology, infrastructure and unique pay per show business model, bringing in a ‘First Day First Show’ regime for film distributors and cinema owners.

    Amongst other Hindi films, ‘Gandhi to Hitler’ screens on 77 UFO theatres in its 3rd week while ‘Khap’ screens on 67 UFO theatres in its third week.

    In terms of non-Hindi films, Tamil film ‘Kanchana’, which releases July 22, screens on 87 UFO digital theatres. Telegu film ‘Badrinaath’ which released on June 10, 2011, screens on 46 UFO digital theatres ; other two Telugu dubbed films ‘Kanchana – Muni 2’ and ‘Sega’ screens on 68 and 42 UFO digital theatres respectively. The lone Bengali movie ‘System’ screens on 42 UFO digital outlets for the week.
