Guwahati : According to the strategy of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and instructions from the Union Home Ministry, the Indian Army, BSF and CRPF have continued a vigorous campaign to counter the militant organizations of the Northeast. Therefore, BSF has once again foiled attempts by its vigilant soldiers to send consignments of goods banned by anti-national elements to India. The BSF Eastern Command Headquarters said on Wednesday that 28 AK 47 rifles, an AK 74 rifle, an American shooting gun, 28 magazines and about 7894 cartridges (ammunition) were seized from these militants.
The large number of weapons was kept in the intelligence box under the jeep seat by the militants.According to the BSF, it is the largest consignment of weapons captured in the North East in recent years. According to the statement, the officials of the Intelligence Department of BSF had received information that a large cache of arms from Myanmar has arrived in India, which is going to be used for violent activities in areas of North East including Mizoram.Based on this information, the jawans led by the Executive Commandant of the 90th Battalion under Aizawl sector of BSF carried out a special operation late last night in Fulden area of ??Mamit district, during which two Mahindra Jeeps passing through South-West Fulden Road were stopped.
This place is located about 15 kilometers from the international border with Bangladesh. When the three jeep were closely searched, a box like cellar was found under the middle seat, which was loaded with weapons, along with capturing the three militants.When the weapons were taken out, it was revealed that inside the box there are not one or two but 29 rifles, out of which 28 are AK-47 rifles, one rifle is of AK-74 series. Apart from this, thousands of cartridges were also found, which were hidden in vehicles. The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of DIG Kuldeep Singh of Aizawl sector of BSF. Generally AK-47 series weapons are used for terrorist activities all over the world. The shooting gun recovered is also of prohibited bore and remains in the US.A senior officer of the Eastern Command of the BSF said that efforts were being made to find out where and for what purpose this large consignment of arms and ammunition was being transported. It is also being ascertained whether these weapons were smuggled for use against the Indian Army. According to the BSF, along with this large consignment of arms, Rs 39,020 cash and other items have also been recovered from the militants.The persons caught in the preliminary inquiry have given their names to Lalhumpazhuwa (56), Vanaluruta (25) and Lionsanga (46).
All three are from Aizawl district. The BSF has handed over the three militants with seized weapons to the local police for further action. Further investigation is going on in this case.According to sources, the three militants caught are said to be associated with the militant organization called National Liberation Front of Tripura i.e. NLFT. Explain that according to the strategy of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to prevent such anti-national activities, a strong force of 2.65 lakh personnel is deployed for defense along the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders.
