HE Khalifa Al Hemeiri, CEO of Al Forsan Holding, announced a 14% increase in visitor numbers to Al Forsan International Sports Resort, which welcomed 108,000 visitors during the first half of 2019 compared to 96,000 visitors during the same period last year.

Al Hemeiri expected an increase in footfall over the coming period thanks to the management’s continuous efforts to offer high-quality programs and initiatives to attract UAE citizens and residents from all age groups.

Al Hemeiri revealed that the resort is planning to introduce Al Forsan’s exclusive membership programs, which offer a variety of entertainment packages to meet the needs of individuals and families. Al Forsan Holding will also carry out investment projects over the next few years to diversify and improve the resort’s facilities and services. These improvements will include expanding the resort’s football stadia, equestrian arenas and the events ballrooms. A new gym will be established, as well as a technology park to encourage young audiences to take part in such a vital sector.

The resort introduced a host of offers during the summer holidays, including 25% discounts on all sports activities, and 20% discounts in restaurants at the resort.

Al Hemeiri said: “Al Forsan International Sports Resort has become one of the leading sports and entertainment destinations in the UAE. During the past six months, the resort hosted several local and international championships in equestrian, archery and other sports. The resort also hosted the Special Olympics in February, which helped increase visitor numbers”.

“The resort plays an important role in developing the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi, being the first resort of its kind in the Middle East to have a range of world-class sports and entertainment facilities covering over 1,6 million square meters”, he added.

The resort offers an array of services, sports and recreational activities to meet the needs of various segments and age groups, such as karting, water sports, water skiing, horseback riding, equestrian and shooting, as well as a dedicated fitness center. The resort’s facilities include air-conditioned indoor arenas for training, dedicated recreational areas for paintball, horseback riding, shooting, football, tennis and other sports, as well as a number of restaurants. The resort’s staff comprises local and expatriate expertise who are highly qualified and trained in various areas of sports and entertainment.

During the first quarter of this year, the resort organized Al Forsan Spring Camp, which included various activities and events. The resort is currently organizing Al Forsan Summer Camp, which will run until the end of August. The camp offers a variety of events and activities including swimming, football, basketball, martial arts and other sports.

“The camps are held to develop the abilities and skills of the younger generation, while helping them make the best use of their time by engaging in useful activities that promote physical and mental well-being. Such activities will help them engage with peers of the same age groups, and instill the good Emirati values and principles, such as cooperation, tolerance and team work”, Al Hemeiri explained.

“These events attracted large numbers of children whose parents praised the idea of the camp, which provided their youngsters with a great alternative to spend the school holiday in a pleasant and fun environment”, he added.

The investment projects under Alforsan Holding portfolio include the Alforsan Village with 385 villas and 440 residential units ranging from one to four bedrooms and covering 241,985 square meters; and Town Square which is a 15,000 square meter retail area with 17 retail outlets to meet the needs of the village’s residents. It hosts a variety of dining outlets, cafes and children’s areas, as well as the 400-room five-star Marriott Al Forsan Hotel which offers best-in-class hospitality experiences.

Al Forsan International Sports Resort is the only resort of its kind in the region to have a range of advanced sports and entertainment facilities, as well as world-class training services for different segments and age groups.
