  • Amarnath Yatra formally begins from both Baltal, Pahalgam routes

    In Jammu & Kashmir, annual Amarnath Yatra has formally started from both the routes of Baltal and Pahalgam on Wednesday.

    The second batch of 2,185 devotees left Jammu base camp for pilgrimage to the 13,500 meter-high cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas Wednesday morning, amid tight security.

    A cavalcade of 66 vehicles carrying the pilgrims started their journey from Amarnath Base camp at Jammu around 5 AM.

    On Tuesday, thousands of yatris from different parts of the country reached Nunwan in Pahalgam and Baltal in Sonamarg base camps.

    AIR correspondent reports, thousands of yatris started their journey towards Chandanwari and Bradimarg early Wednesday morning.

    Chanting Bom Bom Bhole majorities of the yatris were seen enjoying yatra as they said they had come for the first time for this holy pilgrimage.

    Adequate security arrangements have been made for the yatris from Pahelgam and Baltal base camps upto holy cave. Administration has elaborated every possible arrangement on different stops for the yatris leading to holy cave.
