Ahmedabad : Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Group, reaffirms its commitment to community development with a focus on sports and education initiatives through its CSR arm. Recently, it organised Khel Mahotsav in the Kodinar, Gujarat that saw participation of around 250 students and teachers.
Under its sports promotion program, a vibrant sports mela was organised at the primary school of Sugala village in Kodinar. The mela witnessed participation from nine primary schools, including Rampara, Kukras, Sugula, Jagatiya, Singsar, Balevla, Lodhwa, and Solaj villages,
The mela featured a diverse range of sports tournaments where children showcased sportsmanship and teamwork in the event. Highlighting the significance of sports in holistic development, Ambuja Cements under its education program has introduced physical education to promote regular physical activity for children’s overall health and well-being.
Apart from organising sports festival, other support like necessary sports equipment, upgrades playgrounds, and training opportunities for students to compete at local, district, and state levels, are arranged fostering a culture of sportsmanship and inclusivity within schools.
Besides, Ambuja Cements aims to enhance learning capacities and reduce dropout rates by recognizing each child’s potential. Special initiatives such as self-defense (karate) classes are being implemented to empower girls.
Ambuja Cements, has been actively involved in developmental initiatives, particularly in the field of education, across 25 primary schools of Kodinar, Veraval and Sutrapada talukas of Gujarat. Focused on fostering holistic growth, Ambuja has undertaken projects to promote reading and writing, improve school sanitation, and establish science labs, among other activities.
