GUWAHATI : Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati on Thursday morning in the wake of assembly elections in Assam. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, his cabinet colleague Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, state BJP president Ranjit Kumar Das welcomed the Union Home Minister at Popular Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Borjhar in Guwahati. Home Minister Amit Shah visited Nagaon in Assam and worshipped at Mahamritanjay Temple. After which he has also participated in the Prana Prestige programme.
Amit Shah lashed out at the Congress. He adopted the work done by the BJP government for Assam and the state. Without naming the Congress, the home minister said that those who are sitting with Ajmal cannot stop infiltration. You cannot save rhinoceros. He comes to Assam with Badruddin Ajmal whose language you have listened to. Without naming Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah said that he first roamed the streets of Delhi. When the election comes, they come to seek votes. The youth were shot at the time of Assam agitation. Now, they are changing the garb to seek votes. Some votes are cut and the BJP wants to help the Congress by cutting its votes.
The people of Assam understand everything. He will not be foolish. The people of Assam know that the BJP can create a state of developed, calm and free from infiltrators. Amit Shah said that today, those whose language has changed ask them to talk about the pride of Assam. The infiltrators hunted the gaurav of Assam but never did anything. Because they were lured by votbank. You cannot stop infiltration by sitting with Ajmal. He talks about the security of Assam with Ajmal Badruddin. Amit Shah, who arrived in Nagaon, announced from the forum that Assam would be flooded. Every year, millions and crores of people are affected. The plan has been prepared. For four years, satellites have been surveyed in the rainy season. Assam flood will be freed in next five years. Places have been found where Assam will be flood free by diverting water by creating large-scale talaks.
The home minister said that I give an open challenge to the Congress government for 15 years but they did nothing for Assam. Manmohan Singh had become a Rajya Sabha member from here. Give an account of fifteen years. He said that the Congress has not developed as much as we have done in 70 years. Amit Shah said that Assam, which is known for demonstrations, violence, is growing on the path of development free from violence, floods and infiltration. The BJP’s visit to Assam will be completed only when it emerges as the most contributing state to GDP with other north-eastern states. Shah said that under pm Modi’s leadership, not only in Assam, a new development began in the entire north-east. There was a time when Assam was known for agitation and violence. PM Modi did everything to bring prestige to Assam.
Bhupen Hazarika was honoured with Bharat Ratna. Congress leader Tarun Gogoi also made a great contribution. He was given the Padma Bhushan under PM Narendra Modi’s rule. Amit Shah said, “Mahatma Gandhiji had said a very big sentence at the time of the freedom movement, Srimanta Shankar Dev Ji, that Assam is very fortunate in the right that 500 years ago, Shankar Dev Ji was born here who gave a model to the assamese and revived the imagination of The Kingdom of Rama. Shah said, “Assam had a Congress government for 15 years, but never did he work to build a monument in the land of Srimanta Shankar Dev Ji as a virtue. You gave the BJP a chance five years ago and our two leaders worked to carry forward the message of Srimanta Shankar Dev Ji for 100 years.
