He has such an amazing story of how he made his journey from the United States to Dubai that showcased his determination, vision, and the power of technology to make changes that last.
Amol Awasthi started his career in Silicon Valley, United State where he started working for MirrorPlus Technologies as one of its first employees. The company helped several businesses with technology issues and started growing very quickly. But during his tenure at the company, MirrorPlus was bought by American Reprographics in 2003, which gave Amol a lot of useful experience of running a business along with the process of merging or buying other businesses. Then in 2005, American Reprographics issued its IPO and went public which was such a big moment in Amol’s career and gave him the courage to go out on his own.
During his time in the United State, in 2002, Amol Awasthi established a startup – Catalyst Business Partners LLC (CBP). CBP was started with the specific goal just to help businesses by providing IT services to get successful in a world that is becoming more and more digital. He had a dream to build a business that could use technology to help businesses grow, especially in the places where standard IT solutions weren’t as good as per the demand. Even though CBP started out in the US, it quickly spread around the world. Amol quickly realized, though, that the real chance lay in emerging countries, especially Africa, where IT infrastructure was still very new.
After recognising the opportunities, Amol Awasthi was brave enough to move to Dubai in 2006 where he quickly set up a branch of CBP to focus on the African market. Dubai was the best place for Amol to start his plans to grow because of its great location and strong business climate. In the next ten years that followed, Amol led CBP’s growth into new countries like Senegal, Guinea, Cameroon, and Egypt. Presently, Catalyst Business Partners LLC (CBP) has a staff of more than 200 employees and makes a turnover of $25 million a year.
While talking about his career, Amol Awasthi Dubai has been very successful in Africa because of his ability to deal with the unique problems and to grab the opportunities that each market offers. Although, there was a lack of facilities along with the problems with the rules and regulations that made things very hard in many African countries. But Amol’s deep knowledge of the IT business and his skill at making strong connections with local partners helped CBP do very well in these markets. He has not only brought positive changes in the companies through his services but he has also converted some worst places into the best place with its infrastructure and creating jobs.
Despite CBP, Amol has made a positive impact on several businesses. He is experienced in taking a calculative approach and that is why he invests in a number of new businesses, especially ones that are focused on ecology and new ideas. Amol Awasthi Dubai also co-founded Terra Firma Commodities (TFC) together, with a focus on doing business in a way that is good for the environment. He is also a partner and board member for Senslytics Corporation and The Trip Works Holdings Ltd., which helped him to build his name in multiple industries other than IT.
When it comes to the areas in which Amol does business, his leadership and vision have changed everything. Throughout the Middle East and Africa, He has become a benefitted asset to multiple businesses and individuals while providing his consultation which has boosted economic growth and improved the lives of innumerable people. While leading CBP and investing in emerging businesses, Amol Awasthi is going to increase his worldwide business reach.
