  • Amway India in association with Kolkata Police promotes community wellbeing; donates woolens and blankets to the underprivileged in Kolkata

    Kolkata : Exemplifying its efforts towards community welfare, Amway India, one of the country’s leading FMCG Direct Selling companies, in association with Kolkata Police recently conducted a donation drive to distribute woollens and blankets among the underprivileged in Kolkata to help safeguard them from the extreme winters.

    Amway India with the support of Kolkata Police, undertook the donation drive to extend its support towards 200 underprivileged individuals living in the slums. The activity was carried out in the presence of Chandra Bhushan Chakraborty, Sr. Vice President, East & West Region, Amway India, and a senior official of Kolkata Police who handed over the woollens to the people.

    Talking about the initiative, Chandra Bhushan Chakraborty, Sr. Vice President, East & West Region, Amway India, said, “Over the years, Amway India has been true to its commitment of supporting and giving back to the communities we live and operate in. We have been consistently working towards assisting people live better, healthier lives and it is our privilege to come together with the Kolkata police to shoulder this collective responsibility of working towards the upliftment and welfare of the underprivileged. I feel so proud to share that all our employees in the region generously contributed towards this initiative which made it possible for us to reach out to so many people and help them brave the biting winter cold.”

    As a responsible corporate Amway India has been investing in multiple CSR programs to support the underprivileged sections of the society and give back the community. Some of these initiatives include – Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign which utilizes Amway India’s expertise in nutrition to help fight childhood malnutrition around the world and empower people everywhere. Under its Project sunrise, Amway India has been supporting the upliftment and overall well-being of underprivileged children by providing them access to education, health, and hygiene through its ‘Healthy Mind Health Body’ campaign. Recently, in association with its Partner NGO Saksham, Amway India, organized a webinar on the Accessibility of Health Services for persons with visual impairment. The book ‘Tactile Science Primer’ was unveiled at the webinar by Dr Vinod Kumar Paul, Member of NITI Aayog who leads Health, Nutrition & HRD Vertical at NITI Aayog along with Rajat Banerji, Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Amway India, and Dipendra Manocha, Co-Founder, Saksham.
