Another chilly day for Delhiites

It was another chilly morning for the national capital on Thursday though the minimum temperature rose by one degree.

The minimum was recorded at 6.4 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal, as against the season’s coldest of 5.2 degrees on Wednesday.

While the minimum temperature dropped three degrees below normal on Wednesday, the maximum shot up to 24.4 deg C, one degree above normal.

The mercury had earlier dipped to 6.2 deg C on 11thDecember.

Overnight temperatures have been hovering around 7-8 degrees Celsius for the past fortnight and the sharp decline was recorded for the first time this season.

According to statistics provided by the weather office, the average minimum temperature in Delhi for the month of December is 8.2 deg C and the maximum is 23 deg C.

The lowest ever minimum temperature for this month has been 1.1 degree C recorded on 26th December, 1945, while the highest maximum was 29.3 degree C recorded on 3rdDecember, 1987.
