  • Antony assures modernization of military hospitals

    Government has said that all the military hospitals across the country will be modernised at par with the best in the country. Addressing a select gathering after presenting the Raksha Mantri’s Trophies for the Best Command Hospitals in New Delhi on Monday, the Defence Minister Mr. A. K. Antony said that it will be done in a phased manner. He also informed that proposal for the restructuring of Military Nursing Service has been approved by the Defence Ministry and would soon be examined by the cabinet. Mr. Antony also lauded the contribution of Armed Forces Medical Services in various missions abroad including under the UN Flag such as Ethiopia, Lebanon, Golan Heights, Congo and Afghanistan.

    The Raksha Mantri’s Trophy for the best Command Hospital for 2010 was given to Mumbai based Indian Naval Hospital Ship Asvini. The Southern command Hospital, Pune was awarded the second Best Command Hospital. All the three Service Chiefs were present on the occasion.
