Apeejay School of Management holds 21st Convocation

New Delhi : Amidst an environment of high spirit and enthusiasm, Apeejay School of Management (ASM) recently organised its 21st Convocation ceremony at its Dwarka campus at New Delhi.  On this occasion, 327 graduating students from 2018-20 and 2019-21 batches received Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and certificates of merit.

Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education, Co-Founder and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University and Co-promoter & President, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group presided over the function and conferred the diplomas to respective students. Shri P.R. Jaishankar, Managing Director, India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd., graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The Convocation ceremony commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Alka Munjal, Director, ASM, wherein she appealed to the students to dedicate themselves towards the betterment of mankind and the world in general, and bring glory to their proud parents and their alma mater.

During his address, Shri P.R. Jaishankar, said to the graduating students, “Your goal is not to get satisfied with what you have but to always have a zeal to grow. More than professional skills, what matters is your attitude, values and behaviour, to succeed in life.” Further, he suggested students to get involved from the grass-root level of any field in order to become great managers or business leaders.

Mrs Berlia, who commenced the convocation virtually, said, “In the pandemic, it came home to people that ultimately what sees you through is your values and resilience. We were very fortunate to immediately go on to virtual learning. We were able to celebrate many events as well but convocation is something very special and so we took a call that we would wait till we could meet physically.”

Of the 327 graduating students, nine students received medals for their outstanding academic performance. Ms Tanya Arora and Ms Sakshi Aggarwal from batch 2018-20 were conferred the Gold and Silver medal, respectively. Ms Prishu Purva and Ms G. Indrani from batch 2019-21 were conferred the Gold and Silver medal, respectively.

After conferring diplomas upon the new graduates, they were formally inducted into the Alumni body of Apeejay School of Management. As a customary act and to strengthen the bond among ASM alumni, representatives of the previous batch alumni passed on a symbolic baton to these newly-turned alumni.
