Using Apollo Columns, the Delhi Government’s ambitious 15000 square feet Oxygen Plant Shed project got completed in just 15 days instead of its initial targeted completion period of one month

New Delhi : Apollo Column, India’s largest range of square hollow steel sections (HSS) that offers faster turnaround time and reduces construction cost at the same time, has achieved yet another milestone. A revolutionary innovation in construction sector, Apollo Column has recently demonstrated its true potential by making it possible to complete the Delhi Government’s ambitious fifteen thousand square feet Oxygen Plant Shed project in just fifteen days.

The Oxygen Plant located at Sirsapur in Delhi was initially targeted to be completed in one month of time. The PWD Delhi in the meanwhile, decided to explore tubular technology to complete the project within timeframe. However, the entire project was successfully completed in just 15 days by using the innovate Apollo Columns. These heavy structural tubes with size up to 300x300m and 400x200mm were perfect fit for this project.

Mr. Sanjay Gupta, CMD, APL Apollo said, “APL Apollo takes pride in contributing its bit in building modern infrastructure in the country. The recently completed Oxygen Plant has in particular demonstrated that our structural steel tubes are best suited for steel buildings in terms of speed, quality, cost advantage and environment safety. At the same time, the structure looks aesthetically better compared to conventional structural products.”

While the company delivered the required sections in just one week from its Raipur plant, the fabricators on the other hand, finished joint connections and paint work in another one week. Thanks to their sturdiness and ease of bending, punching and drilling, Apollo Columns are just required to be put together and joined with bolts to create complete modular structures. Moreover, there was no requirement of welding on site which helped the completion of erection work before time.

One of the biggest advantages of using Apollo Column in pre-engineered buildings is that it lowers steel consumption while reducing project duration and assuring minimal wastage at the same time. Apollo Column reduces the consumption of steel in the pre-engineered buildings by 15% to 25% which ultimately results in reducing the overall project cost.
