Kokajhar : A unit of Red Horns Division of the Indian based in Kokajhar celebrated Children’s Day by organising Bicycle distribution to girl students of Kokrajhar district under Operation Sadhbhavna.

A total of 60 bicycles were distributed at 4 locations to facilitate the movement of girl students from remote areas to enable them to pursue their education.

The event was attended by members of civil administration, Gaoburas, teachers and students.

The locals expressed gratitude towards the Army stating that this kind gesture of the Army will help these girls to come at par with the mainstream. Moreover, they can influence their less fortunate peers to follow the path of education and self-reliance. These measures under taken by the Army assist in the overall development of the region, apart from building a permanent place in the hearts of the locals. The benevolent action by Army will go a long way in empowering poverty stricken girls to enable them to scale new heights through education.
