Government has provided over Rs 28,000 crore support through Direct Benefit Transfer to around 32 crore beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan relief package announced in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a tweet, Finance Ministry said, around Rs 14,000 crore have been directly transferred to approximately 7 crore farmers under PM – KISAN scheme and Rs 10,000 crore to over 19 crore PMJDY women account holders and Rs 3,000 crore to 2 crore building and other construction workers till yesterday. Over Rs 1400 crore have been transferred in the accounts of around three crore divyangs, senior citizens and aged widows as well.
