GUWAHATI : October: Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjit Kumar Dass today visited Gandhiji’s heritage Sabarmati Ashram located near the Sabarmati river in Gujarat and the cottage named ‘Hriday Kunj’ inhabited by Gandhiji. It may be recalled that Mahatma Gandhi lived in this ashram with his wife Kasturba Gandhi for the years from 1918 to 1930. Minister Das visited every item and memorial related to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi in the ashram. Minister Das also recited the thread on the loom in the ashram and also recited the prayers sung by Gandhi. Minister Das was happy to see the name of the holy Ganga, Yamuna as well as the river Brahmaputra, which is the lifeblood of Assam, in the prayers of Mahatma Gandhi.
