  • Assam: ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in Hailakandi, AIUDF member arrested for allegedly shouting

    Guwahati  : Not in Pakistan, but within Indian Territory, in Barak Valley, Assam ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans have been given by a political member. AIUDF member arrested for allegedly shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in Hailakandi of Barak. As per information, a party member of the AIUDF identified as Nasir Uddin has been arrested on Saturday by the Hailakandi police for allegedly shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) slogans during the fiasco between the members of the Congress and AIUDF over the construction of a toilet recently. Sources informed that the members of the Congress and BJP had opposed the construction of the toilet under the supervision of AIUDF near a government-run hospital named after former Congress MLA Santosh Kumar Roy and had opposed the construction because it was being built close to a statue of Roy. Hailakandi Sadar I/C Tinku Goswami informed that the Hailakandi BJP has filed a case at the Hailakandi P/S bearing case number 347/2018 against Nasir Uddin along with Hailakandi MLA Anawar Hussain Laskar, Dilwar Hassan and Ali Ahmed accusing them of inciting violence and spreading anti-national feelings. Meanwhile, accused Nasir Uddin has been arrested and a detailed investigation is being carried out on the other AIUDF members including the Hailakandi legislator. It may be mentioned that Section 144 of the code of criminal procedure has been promulgated in Hailakandi district after the political clash went violent between the members of the Congress and AIUDF over the construction of the toilet. BJP strongly criticised this incident and demanded action against the person who was shouted “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) slogans.
