Guwahati : In two separate operations conducted on 01 December, troops of Assam Rifles of Spear Corps along with Manipur Police apprehended an insurgent of proscribed group Liberation Tiger of Tribals (LT) and an arms trafficker along with recovery of weapons and ammunition. Acting on a reliable input, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Police in which one LTT insurgent was apprehended near Pangei Bazar, Imphal East District. One 9mm pistol with magazine and seven live rounds were recovered from the insurgent. In another operation, a joint team apprehended an arms trafficker near Yaingangpokpi Bazar, Imphal East District and recovered one .22mm pistol with a magazine and two live rounds. Both the individuals along with recovered weapons and ammunition were handed over to Police for further investigation.
