  • Assam Threaten indigenous Buddhist monks: AJYCP, AASU demand immediate action against Bangladeshi Buddhist monks

    Guwahati : The regional committee of All Assam Students Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiotbari Yuba Chatra Parishad  (AJYCP) on today laid siege to the office of Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia district, demanding the repatriation of Bangladeshi Buddhist monks living illegally. AJYCP members gathered at the Central Field in Margarita to take action against Bangladeshi immigrants illegally and took out a rally shouting slogans against the MLA from Margarita, Bhaskar Sharma, the Margarita Administration (Civil) and the Margarita Police. AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee General Secretary Kanchan Bora (I / C) said, “Due to some so-called Bangladeshi agent, Bangladeshi Buddhist monks have entered Assam, which is a threat to the indigenous Buddhist monk of Assam and hence a conspiracy. Bangladeshi Buddhist monks to settle in Margherita Buddha Vihar. ” The AJYCP states that under no circumstances will they allow Bangladeshi Buddhist monks to enter Assam.

The AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee said, “Assam is not a green field for illegal Bangladeshi Buddhist monks and other Bangladeshi people, where any person who has entered Assam by illegal process should return to their homes in Bangladesh. The major problem of Assam is illegal Bangladeshi, who are infiltrating Assam. AJYCP has demanded Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to take immediate action against illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Assam.

    The AJYCP further threatened to intensify the movement in Margherita and some other parts of Assam as well.
