  • At least 11,500 ads, posters removed from Mumbai ahead of LS polls

    Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Election commission has become vigilant and very keen on the implementation of model code of conduct.

    As a part of its vigilant drive, the commission is taking strict action against unauthorised political advertisements.

    At least 11,500 unauthorised political advertisements and posters have been removed from Mumbai suburban district.

    An election official said, nearly 9300 advertisement boards, posters, banners and flags have been removed from public places while more than 2200 such boards have been removed from private properties falling under the administrative limits of the Mumbai Suburban district from Mahim Causeway to Dahisar, Kurla to Mulund and Kurla to Trombay.

    The same area comprises of four Lok Sabha and 26 Assembly constituencies.
