Kokrajhar : An awareness program on prosthetic limb for differently-abled persons was held at Auditorium hall of Commerce college Kokrajhar.

Organised by District Social Welfare Office, Kokrajhar in collaboration with 7th Assam Bn, Dhubri Assam, minister Pramila Rani Brahma attended and inaugurated the programme.

Commanding Officer of 7th Bn NCC Dhubri Col Niraj Bakshi, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Partha Pratim Mazumdar, BTC secretary Bhabani Prasad Sharma, Deputy secretary cum CHD Social Welfare Department BTC Kuldeep Basumatary, chairperson Child Welfare Committee Kokrajhar Malati Rani Narzary were those present.

Minister Pramila Rani Brahma said the awareness program was organised to assess the health and physical status of the persons with disabilities which included Orthopedic, hearing impaired, etc in the district. The assessed persons would be facilitated materials aid like tricycle, hearing instrument through based report of assessment camp.

The minister assured to look into the issues of the differently abled persons including scholarship, pension, filling up of vacancies post, government schemes benefits etc.
