  • Bangladesh government proposes to install Mujib’s statue in Agartala

    Guwahati : To take the biennial relationship between the two countries especially with Tripura to a new height, the Bangladesh government has proposed to set up a museum in Agartala named after the father of Bangladesh nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also build it Have done Memorial to Muktibodh who sacrificed his life in the liberation struggle of his country. Bangladesh Information Minister currently visiting Tripura, Dr. Hassan Mehmood put forward these proposals during a meeting with Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. It is learned that the Chief Minister also responded positively to the proposal. It may be recalled that Tripura played an important role in the liberation struggle of Bangladesh and the first major attack against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by the then Pakistan government was the infamous ala Agartala Conspiracy Case ‘In this case, the leader was accused of meeting the then Chief Minister Sachindra Lal Singha and hatching a conspiracy against the Government of Pakistan.
